I got DiskImage_1_6_WinAll.exe to write the ext3.img to the flash but just could not get the 'usb1' network folder to appear. I've tried to do this from a Win7 machine and from a WinXP machine. With the XP machine, I get as far as the attached pic shows and no further.
I've updated the firmware from 4.7.5.1.83.3.5 to 4.7.5.1.83.3.17 to see if that makes any difference, but no joy.
So I was wondering what's the 'magic ingredient' at step 1.3 of the tutorial that allows you to see the usb? Incidentally, I've tried using two different makes of usb sticks but still no luck.
I can confirm that the router is now unlocked. I will be testing its performance wrt the older netgear for a bit and report back, if that's of interest to anyone.
Incidentally, as PsiDOC states in the unlocking tutorial, writing the ext3.img takes 3-7 seconds. Mine always took almost a minute. However, I unzipped the hh2b_unlock.exe file yet again and tried to write the image. This time, the write only took 3-7 seconds. And I was able to see the usb1 folder immediately. Strange, but all I did different is decompress the hh2b_unlock.exe file before writing the image, and it seemed to work.
Perhaps just one of those things, but maybe of some help to others getting frustrated trying to find that elusive usb1 folder!
OK, the coverage of the HH2.0B is great! The netgear DG834GT is no contest.
I'm using the netgear as adsl modem and the HH2.0B as an access point. Ultimately, I hope to get rid of the netgear altogether and use the HH2.0B as adsl modem and wireless AP. However, I need to find out my SKY username and password to do that...easier said than done...
I tried using the (https://www.cm9.net/skypass/) generator, and entering in these into the HH2.0B, but that didn't work. It seems the HH2.0B tries to connect but doesn't. I suspect it's an issue with the sky username/password. Also tried looking into the netgear's backup configuration but couldn't locate any username/password there.
