Is it possible to downgrade to the previous firmware?

I have a solder (and I'm itching to use it) but the hub I'm working on is that of a family friend's so I don't want to cause any damage if a fix could be out soon.

Hi Guys,

I gave up last year on my BHH 2 because of the 8.1.H.U firmware on it, but need it again now. Has this not progressed since then?
Has anybody been successful at downgrading to a more compliant firmware?
