I thought I would give n update n just like to confirm backfire worked fine, I had the same issue as @Rickety re IP of 100, I copied the latest redboot files in this thread over the oldler usb files so assume it's the new redboot is the issue. I just did as @Rickety (Many Thanks) to change ip n make permenant.

I now need a project to try n make use of my new toy n keep learning, What would you say this little box is really capable of doing?

Edit: I have discovered that the last revision that contains 2.6.39 is 29958.

    I intend to test by:
    svn checkout --revision=29958 svn://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/trunk/ ./hh_v1

Edit2: above worked fine to get 2.6.39 but built kernel 3.0.17 patch seems to work fine but I must have missed pwd as I can't seem to log back in after changing password. I'm gonna check config.

Ok I rebuilt above it seemed that shadow copy had not been set although was highlighted in menuconfig, so I changed manually.

I don't know if anyone else is interested in the build, which is for v1, I built in LuCI (trunk+svn8603) which seems to work fine n openvpn as I thought linking my 2 v1's via openvpn would be a good project.

Anyone brave enough to have a try I'd welcome any n all comments.

I've built the latest trunk r31258, kernel 3.0.18, everything seems to work fine, wifi is by default disabled, had to enable it from the command line. I've attached my copy of board_bthomehubv1.c. I had to comment out ucd stuff. Anyone knows what ucd is?

Many Thanks I'll take a look n give a current build a go.

Edit: Could this be related to udc issue?

    Hi All

Thanks to Ant and PSIDoc for this forum and for getting OPENWRT working. I've prewarn you that I'm more of a n00b at the ol' linux, and haven't dabbled in it for a while.
I dusted off an old BT Homehub 1.5 and have managed to install Redboot and TFTP the sample 1.5 prebuilt image onto the box, but that's as far as I can get. My intention is to use this HH as a backup router for my existing Virgin Cable Modem / WRT54-DDWRT combination. (or even replace it if I can get it going)
I can Telnet into the box on .11 but can't really figure out how to progress further. I've read through the documentation but my head spins somewhat. I don't think the LUCI GUI packages are installed in the prebuilt image that Ant kindly supplied, and I've tried connecting the Wan port on the box straight up to my Virgin cable modem but it won't grab the 82.x.x.x IP address and connect to the net.
I have no idea where to get going. Would a kind soul on this forum be willing to compile an OPENWRT image for the HH1.5 for dummies with the LUCI GUI, USB support etc?

I think if I can get into the GUI then I might be able to have a good ol' tinker and get going. A bit of help would be appreciated.

I've not managed to sort a build after the udc issue as yet, but this is my build for trunk r30919. It contains luci including luci-app-openvpn as this is what i'm playing with. I have built for 1.5 but I have no way of testing.

I have just one question: OpenWRT support DECT and VoIP in this device?
    Thanks for answers.

Hi Hejira. flashed it and got it going. could log in to Luci. What's more, I managed to get it to connect to Virgin Media cable by spoofing the mac address that was registered with them and the router grabbed an 82.x.x.x address on the WAN port.

could ping the net so DNS was working bt couldn't bring up any sites on the net when i connected a laptop via wifi. any ideas?

Cool Using OpenWRT as a base for Linux on HH 1.0?

Edit: Manually moved to Here as this isn't wholly OpenWRT related.
(Leaving this here as a pointer and also to thank Ant and everyone else for all of the excellent advice and OpenWRT resources that will be used as a core basis for my project. )

    Apologies for the mis-post.
