  Wifi N Speed
by: tomolewis, 04-03-2010 03:39 PM (#1)

Just wondering how come the homehub only supports 140mbps when other wifi N devices support 270-300mbps ?

thanks

The Homehub 2 is a wireless-n draft router. It's not a full on N device.

Is it a limitation of the hardware or drives? I know a lot of things are only draft at the moment but a lot still support faster speeds?

Just wondering if its something that will get faster in the future.

thanks

Drivers I am led to believe. With firmware 8.1.H.G all it could muster was 54 meg. With 8.1.H.J it's up to 130.
The mini PCI card inside the router has full N capabilities so it could get full speed if Thomson & BT get their act together.

Know what make/model mini pci card it uses maybe there are some 300mbps drivers out there that could be put into the router?

It uses this one: http://www.broadc...M94322MP2D
As for drivers they need to be cross compiled for a MIPS processor.

The TG797n firmware will be made available to new donators once it has been received & tested by the original donators.. so "yes" Watch this space!

do you need anymore for the tg797n fund?

19/08/2010 18:47
Probably, but you'll have to work out the command line structure for the software for your USB JTAG
