Security Fixed Firmware 8.1.H.J rev 2 now available.

Hi again home hub flashers.
The the latest firmware that BT put on the home hub 2 has a huge hole in the security that BT put there intentionally.
It enabled them to, at any time they like, connect to your router and upload and run executable files without your permission!
In the rev 1 firmware I disabled this by closing the hole in the firewall, however in this version all of the files and scripts that allowed BT to do this have been ripped out. So this is now a clean firmware.

There are 2 versions of the firmware as with the Unlocked HG. If you have 8.1.H.J already then use the one in the 81HJ folder. If upgrading from 8.1.H.G or any firmware other then 8.1.H.J use the one in the any other firmware folder.
The BRJtag commands are the same for the HJ firmware as they were for HG firmware so no change to the tutorial.

Also when you log in via the web access there's no change password screen first. So log in using the password on the back of the hub and change it via the admin password screen.

The TG797n firmware will be made available to new donators once it has been received & tested by the original donators.. so "yes" Watch this space!

do you need anymore for the tg797n fund?

Probably, but you'll have to work out the command line structure for the software for your USB JTAG
